His dad was killed in the line of duty as a police officer in Terre Haute, Indiana earlier this month. This five-year-old wanted to honor his dad, and may someday follow in his footsteps.
I attended the Law Day ceremonies for the Ontario Co. Sheriffs Dept. this week, and will head to my hometown this Friday to honor members of the Canandaigua Police Dept. at their annual annual Appreciation Dinner. This little kid named Dakota is already ahead of me in honoring our police. God bless him, his fallen hero dad and all law enforcers, and our troops.
