My 30th Birthday in the Adirondacks

I knew we were camping, and golfing, but had no idea how many surprises there would be this past weekend for my 30th birthday. The original plan was me and three buddies would go up to the Adirondacks (near Speculator) to camp Friday night, golf Saturday, and then the ladies would join us for the rest of the weekend.

They had much more up their sleeves. It was a 30th birthday party for all four guys, and were sent on a scavenger hunt from Rochester to our final destination. We solved 10 clues and ended up at the Indian Lake Islands. When our truck pulled into the parking lot, and there was a boat docked ready to take us on a six-mile trip. We turned the bend, and the ladies waved to us on a private island to go camping for all three nights. My brother was even there!

I was lucky to hike Snowy Mountain on Saturday, and golfed at a private 9-hole course on Sunday.

We ate, drank, hiked, and golfed like we were 18. It was one of those weekends, I'll never forget.
