A woman in the U.K. who grew tired of calling her husband home from his local pub came up with a way to encourage him to stay home more. Jayne Tapper built her hubby, Paul, his very own bar in their backyard and now they enjoy pints together there in the evening instead of him going to his usual bar.
The British wife spent just over $24,400 to create the watering hole, appropriately named “Doghouse Inn.” Now instead of being out most nights like he used to be, Paul is sharing beers with Jayne in their personalized bar. It’s got fun lighting, cool signs, and plenty of booze, as well as a church pew and leather sofa for comfy seating. And there’s entertainment too, including darts and a Space Invaders-type arcade game.
“It’s not just become a man-cave as such for Paul,” Jayne says. “I love using it too and I’d quite happily spend most nights in there.”
