Local Jobless Rate Ticks Slightly Up Two Months In A Row

The local jobless rate has ticked up slightly for a second-straight month.

The state Labor Department reports the Rochester metro unemployment rate rose a tenth of a point to 2.9% in December.

It's still the third consecutive month the jobless rate has come in under 3%.

That had not previously happened since at least 1990.

The statewide rate remained at 4.3%
