Chris Lane shared a sweet moment with his son on stage at CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee.

The “Take Back Home Girl” singer took the Chevy Riverfront stage on Sunday (June 8), the final day of the Country Music Association’s four-day festival that takes over downtown Music City. Lane told his massive audience that he was performing on his firstborn son’s 4th birthday. He walked off stage to invite son Dutton Walker to join him, and instead, emerged with his younger son, Baker Weston, who turns 3 in October.

“This is Baker. It’s not his birthday today. But Dutton is right over here and he is being very shy, which is surprising,” Lane said. “Alright, Dutton. You don’t have to come out here, baby. That’s OK. We just wanted to sing you ‘Happy Birthday.’ So, how about this? We’ll sing it to him on the side of the stage over there, alright? He just turned 4 this morning. …Happy birthday, baby. Love you, buddy.”

Lane led the crowd in a rendition of “Happy Birthday” to Dutton, and prompted Baker to wave before he joined his brother backstage.

The country star said he has “a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old now, but one on the way, y’all. …I want to play you the song that started it all, with a song that I wrote for my girlfriend at the time. I used this song to propose to her in her parents’ backyard, and you changed my life with it in a couple different ways,” he said as he started his performance of his 2019 ballad, “Big, Big Plans.”

Lane and his wife, Lauren Bushnell Lane, recently announced Lauren’s pregnancy with the caption: “Party of 5 coming this November! 🤍” Chris said in a previous interview with iHeartRadio it was like “we blinked, and it was here,” while talking about Dutton’s first birthday.

Other country stars welcoming babies into the family in 2025 include Sam Hunt, Lauren Alaina, Lady A’s Hillary Scott, Lady A’s Charles Kelley and more. See the growing list of pregnancy announcements here.
