Jana Kramer shared a heartfelt conversation she would have with her younger self if the pair could meet up for coffee.
Kramer, 41, imagined exactly how the conversation would happen, including what her younger self would want to know about her career path, whether she should stay in the relationship she was in at the time, her future husband, her kids and more.
The Whine Down with Jana Kramer host envisioned her younger self arriving at the coffee shop 10 minutes late, while she was there five minutes early. The younger version of Kramer wore a tank top, skinny jeans and heels, while present-day Kramer wore a lounge set with sneakers, she pictured.
“She asked if she should stay with him. I told her no, that she should trust her intuition and her worth and that no one that truly loves her would ever hurt her physically,” Kramer wrote in text that appeared over a reel she shared on Instagram as she took part in a social media trend on Wednesday (February 12). “I know she’s not going to listen and has to figure it out on her own, but I couldn’t help myself.
“I also told her a name to look out for and to not shy away from him,” she continued, explaining that “he’ll help heal parts of her she didn’t think could be. She asked if we’re lucky enough to have kids. I held up three fingers, one for each, and her eyes lit up. She told me she doesn’t know if she should choose between acting or music. I asked her why she can’t have it all.
“She asked if it gets better. I told her it actually does and sh’s so much stronger than she thinks,” Kramer continued. “She doesn’t think about me but I think about her all the time. I hope we can get coffee again soon.”
The “Warrior” singer-songwriter, author and actress married husband Allan Russell in a stunning wedding in Scotland over the summer. She and Russell share one child together, son Roman James Russell, who celebrated his first birthday in November. Roman joins Troy, Russell’s teen son from a previous relationship, and Kramer’s two children from her previous marriage, Jolie, 9, and Jace, 6.
Kramer wrote in her caption on Instagram on Wednesday: “If only we actually could go back and talk with our younger selves ☕️ What would you tell yours?💜”
